Final Project Idea

My final project prompts are: 

- Graphic/fashion design

- Nature 

- Robotics and micro-controllers

I want to design/construct a piece of clothing that represents some facet of nature. My inspiration will be natural elements around NYC, primarily parks. The product will ultimately be dependent on the fabric/pieces I find since I plan on primarily upcycling pre-existing items of clothing. I would like to use a micro-controller/circuitry to rig lights fitted into the piece. Aside from the technological elements, I want to try to incorporate decorative elements such as screenprinting, fabric paint/markers, and embroidery. I have some experience in fashion design - I have screenprinted designs onto clothing and handsewn alterations into my personal wardrobe, however I have never constructed a piece of clothing entirely from scratch, so I’m looking to push myself with this project. This next week I will begin to shop for the project.
