2D Fabrication Project with Sonja

 

For this project Sonja and I decided to work on designs individually and then combine elements for the final products. I designed the star and interior embellishments. Sonja and I decided to combine this star with one of the faces she designed. This design, in particular, was interesting to see since there were overlapping lines. Overall the process was fairly smooth - we had to run the design through Bubbles a couple of times to fully cut through the acrylic and check lines and settings, but these were small speed bumps. I had used a laser cutter before, so I was familiar with the tedium of the process. It was nice to use Adobe Illustrator these past couple of weeks as I feel it helped me warm up to the process of creating these designs. Ultimately, I'm happy with the outcome and look forward to incorporating laser cutting into future work.
