I Saw Katamari - Stop Motion Project

I wanted to use plushies to create this video in order to focus more on the actions involved rather than construction. My set up for this short video was very simple - I balanced my phone on this audio interface and used thread to puppeteer the plushies. In order to respond to the prompts of transformation and surprise, I wanted to emulate the video game series Katamari. The ball and green plush are characters/objects from said game, in which the basic premise is to roll up objects as small as a thumbtack and as large as a planet. In this way, the ball transforms. Thankfully the ball as well as the hands and feet of the green character (known as the Prince) were magnetic, so I decided to have the Prince "roll up" small magnetic objects. I also have a plushie of Jigsaw from the Saw movie franchise and thought he would add an element of surprise, breaking the peaceful roll of the Prince. I used minimal sound effects such as footsteps, a slapping sound, and the song "WANDA WANDA" from the Katamari Damacy soundtrack. This video is short and sweet and was fun to put together.
