Creative Coding - Scratch
This was a fun project to take on. I had no prior experience coding and was pretty hesitant going into it. However, Scratch is a very user-friendly platform, so I didn't have too much trouble learning the basics. I used a tutorial to create a "chase game" with an elephant and ball sprite. It's very simple, so I'm curious what the next steps could be in making it more complex.
Now that I've tackled a coding project, I see how the medium could be integrated into K-12 education without being overly daunting or complicated. I think Scratch in particular could be used in elementary classrooms due to the fun and simple UI. This could be a great skill in giving students agency to create, especially in an age where AI is easily generating imagery and videos.
